Product Introduction – DM542 Digital Stepper Driver

The DM542 is a reliable and high-performance digital stepper motor driver, designed to control 2-phase and 4-phase hybrid stepper motors with precision. Supporting a wide range of input voltages (18–50VDC) and output currents (up to 4.2A), it provides smooth motion, reduced motor heating, and excellent torque characteristics. It is compatible with 4-wire, 6-wire, and 8-wire motors such as NEMA 17, 23, and 24.


This driver is suitable for a wide variety of small and medium-sized automation equipment, including CNC routers, laser engravers, 3D printers, robotics, and other motion control systems where quiet operation and precise step control are needed.

Microstep Resolution: 15 settings from 400 to 25,600 steps/rev

Output Current: Selectable from 1.0A to 4.2A peak (via DIP switch)

Input Voltage Range: 18VDC to 50VDC

Motor Compatibility: 4, 6, and 8-wire 2-phase stepper motors (NEMA 17, NEMA 23, NEMA 24)

Idle Current Reduction: Automatically reduces current when motor is at rest to minimize heating
